People Who Got Screwed... A 93 year old woman, who worked on an assembly line her entire life, lived frugally and managed to save over $300,000.00. Her daughter's name was added to form a joint bank account as a means of protecting the mother's assets. Her son-in-law convinced her daughter to add his name to the account. Over a period time, and without the daughter's knowledge, the son-in-law withdrew money from the account until it was completely drained. He then disappeared leaving the old woman penniless and at odds with her daughter's irresponsibility. Although there is no solution to this legal problem, there is an obvious means of prevention.
